     Egypt - The Roman Period

In nearly 700 years the roman empire ruled egypt after kleopatras dead. They wanted egypt because af the korn og all there wealth. The first emperor was Augustus. The egyptian tradition for more than 3000 years woke a lot of admiration, and the romans continued building temples and let there names be writen in hieroglyphs. Alexandria was  the city of science. Egypt was considered the emperors private proporty.

In the middle of the 1. century  Marcus came to Alexandria and started to preach chrisianity.

In 313 AD. christianity was declared a statereligion in the roman empire. When Konstantin was made the roman emperor he also converted into being a christian.
