     Egypt - The Old Kingdom

With the 3. dynasty the history of Egypt was good. The period is in the time and technology and art. Memphis was still the capital, but Heliopolis was the most important religious centre. Egypt was divided into provinces, and in each of those there was a representative of the pharaoh.

Pharaoh was the only ruler and owned all the land which was cultivated by farmers. The harvest was kept in stores, and out of it all the priests, workers and farmers was paid. And then some of it is used for offering the the gods. The pyramids stated getting build by Djoser and Snefru in Sakkara and Dashur. The it was time for Cheops, Chefren and <Mykerinos to build the three perfect pyramids just outside Cairo.

In the 5. dynasty the pharaohs called themself Son of Ra. They build enormous temples for this god of the sun.
