     Egypt - The Muslim Rulers

From 640 AD. Egypt was ruled by muslims. But in the year of 1517 sultan Selim declared Egypt as under Turkey. these pashaes ruled egypt until Napolion Bonaparta qconquered egypt in 1798.

In 1805 Muhammed Ali took back the throne. After his death in 1849 egypt was declared britich because of the Suez-canal. United was very interested because, this was the shortest way to India. Great britain declared egypt as a indipendend monarki until 1936.

In 1953 egypt was declared a republic and still is today.
