Egypt - The Egyptian Museum in Cairo

Facaden af det egyptiske museum...
The Egyptian Museum is the place you should visit, and it is worth it. Here is all the treasures from Tutankhamun grave from Luxor. The only thing that remains in Luxor is the mummy of Tutankhamun.

Et hold ventende turister uden for museét...
The museum was built in 1902 and inside of it there are more than 136.00 things from the old Egypt. The ideal would be to come here more than one time, because there are too much to see in one visit. We only went here one time, because we were only in Cairo one day. We had decided what we wanted to see before we came here. And our guide from Egypt told us about some very special things in the museum, when we walked around in the museum.

The museum is extremely big and if you are going to see the museum without a guide it is a good idea to buy the big book about the museum, it cost about 400 EGP.

Et stykke af de store obelisker fra Karnaktemplet i Luxor...Jacob’s greatest experience was to see the 11 mummies.

The mummies lay in a special room. It cost 70 EGP. extra to come into the room to see them. I think it is worth the money. It is hard to leave the room because it is such big an experience. But it is a little scary to bee there. You should consider going see it.

Betina´s greatest experience was to see Tutankhamuns golden mask. It was very beautiful. A think about it, is almost 3500 years old. And then there was the two gold sarcophagus, witch also was very impressive.

It’s not aloud to photograph inside the museum and you have to go through a metal detector when you go inside. But it’s almost habit, as there are metal detectors many places in Egypt.
